What on Earth Should I Wear?

What on Earth Should I Wear?

Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

This talk is not about choosing the right suit for your next court appearance or interview, but rather why what you wear matters for the Earth.

The apparel industry releases 10% of the world’s greenhouse gases and generates 20% of the world’s waste water. In addition, 92 million tons of clothes end up in the garbage every year. The way our clothes are produced and consumed is simply not sustainable.

To learn more about the environmental impacts of the fashion industry and upcycling solutions, the Environmental Law Section is excited to host a virtual talk with Sagi Solomon, CEO & Founder of The Again Co., a circularity platform for apparel brands, and Cynthia Power, Founder of Molte Volte, a circularity consulting firm. Grab your lunch and join us on Zoom to talk about the circular economy and legal and ethical issues for brands and consumers.
