Description

The NCAA is a business that makes money off of the backs of its young student-athletes. 

The NCAA's access to "free labor" generated almost 1.3 billion dollars in revenue for 2022-2023. However, this free labor may soon come at a price. The National Labor Relations Board issued a groundbreaking decision indicating that Dartmouth’s right to control the “work” performed by players along with the “compensation” it provides to those same players make them employees. 

This panel will discuss the latest developments of the classification of student-athletes as employees, and will include insight from Labor and Employment attorneys, and a current student-athlete.
