Real Property & Business Law 2022 Year End Review of Case Law and Statutory Changes
Real Property & Business Law 2022 Year End Review of Case Law and Statutory Changes
Thursday, January 26, 2023 (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM) (PST)
Description
A valiant attempt by a small but plucky panel of attorneys to survey the most important business and real estate opinions of 2022 out of the California courts, the 9th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court, in about 90 minutes.
The focus will be on opinions most likely to be relevant to Bay Area business and real estate practitioners. Opinions from issues stemming from the COVID pandemic will be discussed, and the rest of the free-ranging discussion may touch on the following areas of law: boundary/trespass, conveyances, environmental law, land use, landlord-tenant, real property secured transactions, lien priority, premises liability, contract interpretation, corporations, directors and officers, and business torts. Digressions may include community property, employment law, arbitration, and fraudulent conveyances.
