Description
Bronshtehn v. Dept. of Consumer Affairs: This highly interesting new case addresses a number of perplexing issues related to aggressive vs. simple litigation of cases, and how the litigation decisions impact on the recovery of fees and costs. May defendants object to excessive hours spent in litigation, without showing the court their own hours? May plaintiffs get enhanced rates for time spent on the fee petition, in addition to time spent on the case? What specifics should be contained in counsels’ declarations proposing and opposing fees? Can attorneys recover for “administrative” work done by their staff? Can Plaintiffs claim enhanced fees from the defendant’s failed demurrers? May plaintiffs take a 5% reduction in overall hours and preclude defendants from objecting to more deductions? All these questions and more will be addressed in this webinar.
