A Screeching Halt to “Drive-by” ADA Litigation: Defending Against “High-Frequency” Litigants

A Screeching Halt to “Drive-by” ADA Litigation: Defending Against “High-Frequency” Litigants
Thursday, June 23, 2022 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (PDT)
Description
Co-Sponsored by Labor/Employment Law Section & Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee
Join Richard Schramm, Esq., for this brown bag review of successful and recent defense side developments involving “high-frequency” litigation arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Unruh Act. This program will outline successful defense tactics used against potentially frivolous and vexatious “drive-by” lawsuits, along with strategies, samples, and court decisions to use in defense of these lawsuits. This program will also review actions taken by San Francisco and Los Angeles County’s District Attorneys against a Southern-California/Texas serial plaintiff’s law firm, which files thousands of boilerplate “ADA/Unruh” lawsuits each year, as well as actions taken by U.S. District Judges in the Northern District to address these lawsuits.
